Shake that AA battery; Electric scooter by BMW; IKEA solar-powered lamp; Joel Makower talks cheap energy; Nissan hybrids to Japan
Shake that AA battery for more juice. A concept battery by Mint Energy would allow us to shake the battery to recharge it – pretty cool! The idea takes the recharging component of a hand-crank battery charger and puts it inside the actual battery. Shaking it charges it up.
BMW electric scooter. Sources inside BMW are reporting that the Bavarian brand is working up a new electric scooter that could be debuted at an upcoming motorcycle show sometime in late 2010. The scooter would use a lithium ion battery pack and have a range of about 155 miles or three hours of continuous use and a top speed of 75 miles per hour.
Buy an IKEA’s solar-powered lamp and one gets donated to UNICEF. For every SUNNAN lamp sold in IKEA stores worldwide, another SUNNAN will be donated to UNICEF to give to children living in remote areas and refugee camps who lack electricity. Free light in places without electricity!
Clean-Energy Economy Our ‘Next Internet’? Joel Makower says that surging innovation can make energy so abundant that it becomes nearly free. What do you think?
